A Bit About Me
I am an admitted attorney who has been working in the legal industry for over 19 years with a wealth of experience in the legal field. I obtained my LL.B from the University of Western Cape in 2001. My legal career began at Athlone Justice Centre (LEGAL AID), where I served my articles of clerkship from October 2001 up until October 2003. After this, I moved on to the National Prosecution Authority (NPA), Wynberg Cluster, in the position of Public Prosecutor and later progressed to the Relief Wing, where I provided services in different jurisdictions in the cluster.

In addition to my work in the legal industry, I gained valuable experience in other areas of law, e.g., I worked for FC Cape Town where I gained invaluable experience in the marketing and management of professional football players. I further also dealt with FIFA Solidarity and Training Compensation claims on behalf of amateur and professional football clubs. Furthermore, I worked for BAWUSA, a rural farm workers’ union in Paarl, Western Cape, where valuable experience was gained in the field of Labour Law. On regular occasions I appeared before the CCMA and other Bargaining Forums on behalf of the trade union.
It is worth noting that I opened my own law firm, Aubrey Blaauw Attorneys, in 2007. Unfortunately, I suffered a professional setback and only resumed practice in February 2024 under the name and style of Blaauw and Associates. Whilst out of practice, I operated a legal consultancy, A Blaauw and Associates, where I provided a range of services up until the resumption of practice in February 2024.
